We want to emphasis to everyone
that we need several volunteers in the cafeteria, especially in the lower
grades to help the children with straws, opening milk, and other items, to
clean up spills, and keep everything organized.
Those whose children stay for
lunch are required to help in the lunchroom one day per month. If
parents cannot volunteer for lunchroom duty or get a replacement, they
must pay $5.00 each month for this service. This fee goes toward the
stipend for regular daily help in the lunchroom, which is needed for
proper supervision in the lunchroom and on the playground. Please
sign in so a record is kept of volunteer time.
Without volunteers in the kitchen
to work the serving line and to give out milk, one person has to do many
jobs, which slows down the lunch line, giving students less time to eat
their lunch. If you are unable to schedule a regular day every month on
the schedule, we are asking you to consider being on a call-in list when
we do not have someone coming in on a certain day. As always, if you are
scheduled and cannot make it in, please try to get a substitute or call
the cafeteria to let us know. Currently, we do not have any listings on
the call-in list.
We cannot emphasize enough how
important volunteers are to the success of our Lunch Program. If you
think you would like to be on a substitute list, or are available certain
days of the month, we would like to hear from you.
The cost of lunch is $1.80 and includes milk. The cost of
milk is $.30. The cost for healthier snacks will vary, but will
generally be around $.50.
Days Needed: Any day, Monday through Friday
Times Needed: Lunch is served from 11:15 to 12:30; if you cannot
arrive until 11:30 or shortly thereafter, that is fine .. we're flexible!
We simply -need- your help!
